Jan Reaver, Central Administrator

Jan Reaver brings 15 years of experience in software, firmware, hardware development and technical leadership to Coordinated Systems. Jan started his career as an ASIC design engineer in IBM’s bespoke ASIC division which developed custom PowerPC-based ASICs for Apple iMacs, the Microsoft Xbox 360, and the Sony PlayStation 3. While working on a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Jan architected Sunlight Aerospace’s software which achieved formation flight with errors less than two centimeters. Following the completion of his master’s, Jan worked in mobile vision and speech recognition systems, developing computer-vision-based software to denoise speech in video calls. Jan then went on to work with the U.S. Space Force SBIRS program where his contributions included writing software to encrypt telemetry between satellites and ground control. He later joined NASA’s IV&V team and was responsible for verifying and testing navigation software on the Roman Space Telescope, the Artemis program, and the SR-1 Freedom mission. As Central Administrator of Coordinated Systems, Jan envisions the widespread civilian and military use of emerging technologies including quantum computing, edge AI, soft robotics, and autonomous vehicle systems.
